Welcome to your Endangered Species Quest!

Imagine that you are in charge of a very special animal called...

THE PRETTY BIRD

The "Pretty Bird" is endangered (low in numbers) because too many hunters are killing them for their beautiful feathers.

Write a "Pretty Bird Report" and tell...

1. What you would do to stop this from happening?
2. How you would protect the "Pretty Bird" from hunters?
3. Would you create a new law to protect the "Pretty Bird?" If so, what would it say?
4. Would you create a place where the "Pretty Bird" could live safely?
If so, explain how you would do this.
5. How would you make sure that the "Pretty Bird" would never go extinct?
6. Can you think of any other things you could do to help save the "Pretty Bird?"

Think hard and find a way to make the "Pretty Bird" safe!

Thank you for saving the "Pretty Bird!"

To finish your "Endangered Species Quest" write an "Endangered & Extinct Species Report." In this report you will explain all you know about endangered and extinct species.
Explain how you feel about animals in danger and what we can do as humans to stop this from happening in the future.

Be prepared to share your project with the class by:
1. Writing your "Pretty Bird" and "Endangered & Extinct Species" reports to the
best of your ability.
2. Use details and facts when writing, watch out for punctuation and spelling errors,
and be creative!
3. Bring or draw pictures of these animals to show your classmates what they look like.
4. Explain to your classmates things they can do to help save the animals.
